PROPOSALS TABLED [please contact Bob Darling (x2923 or [email protected])]
Alteration of GIS major. (tabled 6-0-0)
The proposed changes do not ensure that students are earning 12 unique hours in the concentrations. For example:
1) CAP 350 appears in both the GIS_CTEC and GIS_DBG concentrations.
2) Both the GIS_CTEC and GIS_DBG concentrations both list elective CAP courses that can be taken in the other concentration.
Each GIS concentration must have 12 hours that do not appear in the other two concentrations. If a group of electives are listed in one concentration, then those courses cannot appear in either of the other two concentrations.
DNC 211, DNC 311. (tabled 6-0-0)
Can the spirit of these courses be met by changing the prerequisite on DNC 201 from DNC 101 to Permission of Instructor and subsequently list DNC 201 with a 500-section number? Perhaps the same could be done with DNC 301, 401.

DNC 411 Advanced Ballet Technique (tabled 6-0-0)

1) The catalog description should read:
(B) Refine and further develop the technique of the advanced dancer. Exercises will be more complex and physically challenging. May be repeated for a total of 3 credits Prerequisite: DNC 401. (1 cr. hr.)
2) please cut and paste this into the accompanying course outline.
3) the answer to question 12 is yes so this proposal must be accompanied by an alteration of the MUTH major (FORM 5). Specifically, how will section C of the MUTH major read?
DNC 421 Advanced Ballet Technique and Variation (tabled 6-0-0)
1) The catalog description should read:
(B) Continue the development of ballet technique with an emphasis on learning classic variations as well as exploring various ballet styles. May be repeated for a total of 3 credits. Prerequisite: DNC 401. (1 cr. hr.)
2) please cut and paste this into the accompanying course outline.
3) the answer to question 12 is yes so this proposal must be accompanied by an alteration of the MUTH major (FORM 5). Specifically, how will section C of the MUTH major read?
THT 325 The Working Actor (tabled 6-0-0)
1) Why are the clock hours different from the credit hours?
2) The committee feels the scope of the course is more consistent with 1 credit rather than 3 credits.
3) The catalog description should read:
(B) Knowledge and skills necessary for self-marketing and networking in professional theatre. Includes audition strategies and skills. Prerequisite: THT 220, which may be taken concurrently (1 cr. hr.)
4) The attached course outline does not contain:
a) the catalog description.
b) a topical outline of course content (this makes it even more difficult to justify 3 credits).

a) the catalog description.
b) a topical outline of course content.
